Globalization under complexity and uncertainty environments
The main objective of the annual conference organized by the ACEDE-Spanish Academy of Management is to create a meeting space where debate and reflection take place with the necessary academic and scientific rigor with regard to aspects related to the management of companies.
The XXIX Conference of ACEDE will be held in A Coruña under the slogan "Globalization under complexity and uncertainty environments". This motto is an attempt to focus the debate around one of the main challenges that companies have to face today, and that is to operate in a global, complex and dynamic environment. It is in this scenario where ideas are generated and exchanged and where business opportunities arise.
The main venue of the conference is the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of A Coruna. This faculty is located lying south of the Spanish city of A Coruña, on the Elviña Campus. This faculty has been inaugurated in October 2002 and it has been designed by architect Manuel Gallego Jorreto, who has achieved the architectural gold medal in 2010. The faculty has technical support to carry out all kinds of activities, meetings, conferences, symposia, congresses, etc. It has a comfortable resting area and a large parking area outside. It is situated next to the architectural complex of Castro de Elviña, a fortified town typical of the Castreña culture of the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula. This historical complex is the result of more than 400 years of life and coexistence of cultures, for which it has been declared in 1962 a Historic Artistic Monument.

Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship in the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, where he is also the Academic Director of Gary S. Holmes Entrepreneurship Center.
ANTONIO ABRIL ABADÍN
Law degree from the University of Oviedo. Lawyer of the State on leave of absence. He is currently Secretary-General and Secretary of the Board of Directors and Director of Regulatory Compliance of Inditex S.A.
SANTIAGO VÁZQUEZ
He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Santiago de Compostela. He is also a sociologist, an economist and a has a degree in Political Science from the Complutense University of Madrid
MARIA DE LOURDES MACHADO-TAYLOR (MARIA DE LOURDES MACHADO)
Maria de Lourdes Machado holds a Licenciatura in Economics from the University of Porto (Portugal), Post- Graduate Studies in Administration and a Ph.D in Business Administration, both degrees from the University of Minho (Portugal)
CLAUDIO GIACHETTI
Associate Professor of Strategy in the Department of Management at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Italy), where he also received his Ph.D. in Business Economics
THOMAS DURAND
Thomas Durand is a professor of strategic management at the Cnam in Paris, where he heads the department of Strategies and the International Institute of Management.
ANOOP MADHOK
Anoop Madhok is Professor of Strategy and Scotiabank Distinguished Professor of International Business and Entrepreneurship at the Schulich School of Business, York University, Toronto, Canada.
SIBIN WU
Dr. Sibin Wu is Professor and Department Chair of Management at the University of Texas-Rio Grande (UTRGV). He does research in entrepreneurship, strategic management and international business.
FRANCISCO BOTAS RATERA
Francisco Botas Ratera (Ferrol, 1967) has a degree in Economics, Business and Law from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, and a C. Degree in International Business Finance from the University of Berkeley.
JOSÉ MARÍA ÁLVAREZ GALLEGO
He has a degree in Business Studies from the University of A Coruña in 1994, and an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa (Madrid).
